Governmental Relations

The Division of Governmental Relations, working with the University of Houston System Board of Regents, the Chancellor, and the Presidents of the four universities, sets the institutions' legislative priorities and coordinates efforts to secure legislation benefiting the UH System and its universities, including the funding necessary for the institutions to maintain and expand research, teaching, and service to their communities.

The division also collaborates with elected officials and their staffs at the federal, state, and local levels, with the support of UH System faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, to advance the institutions' priorities and higher education in general.

UH System Vice Chancellor and UH Vice President for Governmental Relations Grover Campbell heads the division, with the support of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations Laura Calfee, Executive Director for Planning and Policy and Special Assistant for Governmental Relations Chris Stanich, Special Assistant Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock, and Administrative Assistant Julie Cantu.
