The Academic and Student Affairs Committee of the University of Houston System Board of Regents convened in the Melcher Board Room of the Athletics/Alumni Center on Tuesday, February 7, 2006. Noting the presenceof a quorum, Chairman Gonzalez called the meeting to order at 8:05 a.m.

Dr. Foss also introduced Dana Rooks, Dean, University Libraries who presented the following item to the Board for information.

1. Presentation on M.D. Anderson Library – University of Houston. Dean Rooks provided the Board with an overview of current initiatives at the library.

All documentation submitted to the Committee in support of the foregoing action items, including but not limited to “Passed” agenda items and supporting documentation presented to the Committee, is incorporated herein and made a part of these minutes for all purposes.

There being no further business to come before the committee, the meeting adjourned at 8:25 a.m.

Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Donald Foss announced that Dennis Fouty had been named the Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer, UH System and Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer, UH.
